Your Crew

At Alaska's Wilderness Lodge, our crew will cater to your every need.  We have a lodge staff that exceeds the number of guests we have each week, so nothing will be overlooked.  All staff members have been trained by years of experience in the Alaskan bush and they are the best at what they do.  We have a kitchen staff that will prepare gourmet meals for you in the morning and evening.  Our housekeeping staff will make sure your cabin is cleaned every day, with fresh linens for when you return from fishing and need that hot shower, or sauna.  Our pilots and guides look after you during the day to make sure your experience is safe and rewarding.  You will not be disappointed!

Alan Rider, General Manager

Our kitchen staff have been making AWL guests happy for 21 years.  From the moment you are woken up in the morning by one of our staff members, to the end of the day, you will be treated like royalty.  Each morning you will have a wake-up tray delivered with your personal wake-up call.  A hot breakfast will be waiting for you in the main lodge when you get up.  Every day there's a different special at breakfast, but there's always eggs made to order, hot and cold cereal, fruit, potatoes, etc..  Every evening you will be treated to different hors d'ouerves before dinner.  Dinner selections are always prepared to perfection with menu items that vary from Prime Rib to King Crab Legs.  Our Kitchen staff will take exceptional care of you during your stay at the lodge.

John Furnia

Our Pilots
have years of experience and thousands of flight hours in Alaska.  All of our pilots receive regular professional training in safety and emergency procedures for the safety of our passengers.  Our pilots will not take risks with your safety.  In addition to being excellent Pilots they are also excellent guides.  You can't fly in the waters of Alaska for years without picking up a few things about fishing!

Our guides have experience fishing all over the world with people from every walk of life, using every fishing technique imaginable.  They know how to get you into fish regardless of the species you're targeting or the technique you wish to use.  Our guides are also professionally trained in boating operation and safety.  We have one guide, or pilot/guide, for every two guests, and they will be with you all day long.  They also happen to be great photographers - which you will most definitely need!

Duane Hall, Our Head Guide
